The ingredients to be a champion on the court and in life. Coach Gardner and his staff have developed a program for every age group ( 8-17) and skill level. Our staff provides training that will last a lifetime.
Skill development
Our staff at JAG Basketball have a combined 70 years of real life basketball experience. Hard to teach what you don’t know right? We believe our staff has experienced every level of basketball including the NBA. We focus on teaching the game in order. You should learn to crawl before sprinting. In basketball terms, learning to attack out of the triple threat position, learning to set and use screens, cutting without the basketball are the beginning of the learning curve! Not twenty dribbles to attack. Efficiency is of great value.
Coach Jelani Gardner grew up in Southern California and played his high school basketball at Bishop Amat and later at Don Bosco High School. He was named the McDonlads all American player of the year in 1994 and the number one rated college player in California.
He played his College career at Pepperdine and Cal State. He was then drafted to play overseas in the European leagues and played professionally for over 12 years.
He then returned to the United States and back to the area he was born and raised and began coaching for both high school and college teams where he continues to pass on his high degree of basketball knowledge and his dedication to the sport. He started the JAG youth basketball organization 5 years ago to help kids ages 5-18 develop their basketball skill and knowledge and offers a chance to play in tournaments and high level competition.
